WOPC 2026 Finalists

Finalists for the Wisconsin’s Own Pitch Contest Announced!

Writers from across the state submitted pitches for prospective film and TV projects, and these five writers were judged by our partners at the International Screenwriters’ Association to have the most promising pitches:

Gideon Patrick with Basketball Gods

Corey Holl with The Park People

Jan Schwaid with Nick Normal (and the Academy of Monsters)

Oscar Harding with Colin and Barry Go to a Cabin

Tejvir Mann with Dishwasher

All five writers will receive a private, one-on-one mentoring session with the ISA’s Creative Executive, Shayna Weber, in preparation for their pitches at the Wisconsin Screenwriters’ Symposium in front of a live audience and a panel consisting of writer-producers Jason Rothenberg (The 100), Nikki Schiefelbein (The Ranch), and Deirdre Brenner (Rick and Morty).

Join us in congratulating these five finalists, come cheer them on live, and vote for your favorite pitch at the Wisconsin Screenwriters’ Symposium’s Pitch-a-palooza on Saturday, April 11th at 4:30p.

Register today to attend the pitch, the post-pitch reception, and the rest of the sessions at the 2026 Wisconsin Screenwriters’ Symposium.
